This is a new type of product and remember, it is an ALPHA right now. Gemini are not saying a lot so a fair bit could change yet. They are probably playing about with design etc and I say if you see a design that works why not copy it, esp if you are going to do things on the cheap, it saves on development. OK it might not be seen as the proper way to do things but allot of companies do this. Also allot of times a companies come up with near identical solutions, this is most likely down to that way of doing things being the best. I always say this but lets wait and give judgement once the product is released. It does have a good chance of being awful but it probably will not be marketed at top DJ's but a way for people on a budget to get this type of software.
Not everyone has the cash or wants to spend a load of cash on DJ equipment and Gemini are geared to this, judge a product on its merits, not on the perfect (and probably very expensive) product for yourself.
