Hi all Hopefully I have chosen the right forum to post this in. I have recently purchased a new laptop computer running Windows 8.1 The problem I am e.
Unfortunately, a stable internet connection can drop out right when you need it the most, in the middle of an important download. No matter if it's because of a bad router, a problem with your service provider or spotty 4G service, you're left with an incomplete file that's useless until the process is done. Once you've done all the hard work of getting everything up and running again, you're probably not looking to start that very large download over again from square one. Thankfully, you can restart your download right from where your service abandoned you, and it's very simple if you're using Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari and do-able but more complex in Chrome.

IE11 says it will take more than 12 hours, and if I start d-loading late at night, the next afternoon it still has a few hours to go. So far, so good. But if I start reading my email or read the news on msn the download always gets interrupted, and resuming ALWAYS restarts it from the beginning. It almost seems like I have to not use the computer at all until it's finished.
Any thoughts? I'm now back to the beginning yet again, and it's very frustrating. It seems like every time it fails I first get a msg that msn.com or ESPN.com is not responding, followed invariably by the interrupted msg which is always followed by the download restart.
Suddenly everything I try to download from sites like rapidshare, megaupload etc are interrupted on both INTERNET EXPLORER AND GOOGLE CHROME!! The downloads finish and then both browsers give an error saying The download is interrupted! Like this '123/123 KB Download interrupted' I am going insane! I deleted and installed Google Chrome yet still I can't download anything!! Please help me this is frustrating!! System specs please including malware apps and firewall.

Problem is, I don't know how to adjust eset to not interrupt my downloads.Anyone knows how? EDIT: scratch that.I disabled the antivirus pack and still can't download Edit 2: OK I got to the bottom of it (I think). The main sites I download are from rapidshare and megaupload. Apparently every download from these sites get interrupted but from other less known servers like freakshare the downloads are not interrupted. Anyone knows why or how to fix this? Partouch started this thread almost 3 years ago.
I'm having similar trouble right now. Downloading files from some sites has become impossible; downloads are constantly getting interrupted, and if the site does not allow for retakes, when I restart manually it starts from the beginning. If the file is rather large, this means it will never finish downloading. Eventually JDownloader shows growing download speed for a particular file, but the byte download count freezes, and a few seconds later, the row is grayed out, and the download stops. When I restart the download, the same thing happens again a few minutes later. The behaviour I've described happens both downloading with jdownloader or directly with internet explorer, and it has been going on for quite a few months now.
No changes have ocurred in my system (none that I know of at least) that might justify this behaviour. My system's features: - Western Digital HD, 30 GB free space - RAM, 4 GB - Windows 7 - Avira Free Edition Antivirus - Windows Firewall Right now, I'm watching the Windows Task Manager window; CPU usage is about 16-18%; RAM usage is 2,50-2,70 GB. I've tried disabling Windows Firewall and Avira's PC protection (which I do NOT like to do), but the problem remained the same.
I don't even know how to disable Avira's Internet protection (which I'd DEFINITELY rather NOT do anyway). Any ideas how to work this out?
